------------------

We just learned today that ETC (Educational Technology Center) is in the process of changing ALL student passwords for Gmail and Google Docs (see their email below). The English teachers were not informed that this would happen (or we certainly would have told you!), and quite frankly, we're not very happy about it. Mainly, our concern is for the 200 Honors and AP English students who have been working on their required summer reading assignments and now can't access them.

We've been told that the new reset password will be "password" plus your 5-digit student ID number. Please try this generic password to see if your account has been reset. If it doesn't work, it may be because the techies have not yet reached you. Keep trying!

Your summer reading projects are due on the first FULL day of class: Monday for hours 1, 3, 5, 7, and Tuesday for hours 2, 4, 6. We still hope to be able to give out passwords on Friday, so you will still have the weekend to wrap up your summer assignment.

Subject: Student Accounts

As you know we have had lots of job transitions that are involved with enrollment and student data. Because of this the data that we need to create student accounts has been delayed. Please share with staff that at this point we do not believe student accounts will be ready by the first day of school August 14. I will keep you updated if this changes.

Thanks,
Brenda--
